July 28, 2024 - The Kayon Joy Lindsay-Scott Joy of Education Corporation held it’s annual scholarship awards luncheon at Steak on the Verandah in Kingston, Jamaica. This event was attended by our 2024 scholarship recipients and their guests. Also on hand was our Founder and President David J. Scott, Vice President Tenneka Scott and our Ambassador to Jamaica Akelia Hewitt. This year we proudly awarded three $500.00 scholarships to three outstanding female students currently attending Shortwood Teachers’ College.

April 28, 2024 - We are pleased to announce that our first four-year scholarship recipient, Ms. Stewart, has completed her education at Shortwood Teachers College. As she embarks on the next chapter of her journey, it’s time to reflect on her remarkable accomplishments.

Ms. Stewart’s journey began four years ago when she was awarded the Kayon Joy Linsday-Scott Joy of Education Corporation Scholarship in 2020. Throughout her time at Shortwood Teachers College, she has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to excellence while embodying the values of our scholarship. Academically, Ms. Stewart has consistently excelled, earning top marks in her courses.

Armed with a wealth of knowledge, skills, and experiences gained during her time at Shortwood Teachers College, she is poised to make a meaningful difference in the field of education and beyond. Whether she chooses to pursue a career in teaching, educational administration, policymaking, or advocacy, one thing is certain: Ms. Stewart’s impact will be felt far and wide, inspiring generations of students to reach for the stars and achieve their dreams.

In celebrating Ms. Stewart’s success, we also celebrate the power of education to transform lives and communities. We also donated $500.00 on behalf of The Kayon Joy Linday-Scott Joy of Education Corporation in memory of Kayon Joy Lindsay-Scott. Our support to find a cure for this deadly disease that continues to impact the lives of so many will not stop until a cure is found.
